BAKERT, Michael, formerly of Amherst, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011. Mr. Bakert is survived by his wife, Barbara (nee Van Der Leun); one son, Michael James “Jamie”; one daughter, Vanessa Michael; four brothers, Robert, William, Donald and James; and one sister, Bonnie McGee. A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 26, at Central Park United Methodist Church with arrangements made by Dietrich Funeral Home.

BURGIO, Alfonso L., of Amherst, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011. Mr. Burgio is survived by one daughter, Francyne Jackson; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Nov. 23, at St. Gregory the Great Church with arrangements made by Amigone Funeral Home, Inc.

BROWN, Phyllis K. (nee Knoell), of Amherst, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Cabell; three daughters, Elizabeth Gianacoplos, and Corrie and Ellen Brown; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held on Friday, Nov. 18, at Calvary Episcopal Church in Williamsville, with arrangements made by Dietrich Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Calvary Episcopal Church, 20 Milton St., Williamsville, NY 14221. HUGHES, Barbara Dawley, of Amherst, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011. Mrs. Hughes is survived by three sons, David and Richard Hughes and Yun-Ko Chien; three daughters, Nancy Todd, Barbara Hughes and Anita Chien; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David T. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Amherst Community Church, 77 Washington Highway, Snyder, with arrangements made by Dietrich Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the church.

MATHEIS, William, of Clarence Center, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2011. Mr. Matheis is survived by his wife, Joan E.; two daughters, Karen A. Bartolotta and Kathy J. Seitz; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Herbert. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor C. (nee Liscoff). A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8760 Transit Road, East Amherst with arrangements made by Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home Inc. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.

NOLAN, Edward M., of Amherst, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011. Mr. Nolan is survived by two sisters, Jane Claps and Carol DiNunzio. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Nov. 26, from St. Amelia’s Church, with arrangements made by Dengler Roberts Perna Funeral Home. RYAN, Jeffrey W., of Williamsville, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011. He worked at Brennan’s Bowery Bar. Mr. Ryan is survived by his parents, William and Karen; one brother, Gregory; three sisters, Dr. Julie, Dr. Deborah and Erin; grandparents, Earl and Veronica Edbauer and Francis Ryan. SCHAEFER, Charles R., of Cheektowaga, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011. Mr. Schaefer is survived by one sister, Wilma Connor; and 10 nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was held from Christ the King Church on Saturday, Nov. 19, with arrangements made by Amigone Funeral Home.

TARAMASCO, Ann Marie, of Amherst, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011. Mrs. Taramasco is survived by her husband, Richard; and one foster son, Zachary Ebersol. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Infant of Prague Chapel with arrangements made by Dietrich Funeral Home.

TOOMEY, Ryan M., of Amherst, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011. Mr. Toomey is survived by his parents, Linda A. (nee Reisig) and Michael P; and one sister, Erin Toomey-Helman. A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Harry A. Wedekindt Funeral Home.
