Williamsville Central seeks board candidates

The Williamsville Central School District is seeking residents interested in being members of the School Board.

Three seats, each carrying three-year terms, are up for election to the board this May.

Information packets for qualified candidates are available at the District Office, 105 Casey Road.

Details and some required materials are also available on the district’s website, www.williamsvillek12.org.

Qualified candidates must be able to read and write, a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, and a resident of the school district for at least one year prior to the vote.

Prospective candidates must file their completed packets and petitions by 5 p.m. Monday, April 21. Candidate petitions must include at least 84 valid signatures. For more information, contact District Clerk Mitzie Serafin at 626-8092.

The three incumbents whose terms will expire at the end of June are Patricia Losito, Michael Schmidt and Ronald Shubert. All three have announced their intent to seek re-election.

The annual budget vote and School Board election will take place on Tuesday, May 20, at Williamsville North High School, 1595 Hopkins Road.

The three candidates tallying the highest number of votes will be elected to the nine-member board, effective July 1.
