Wiffleball tournament looking for teams

The 11th annual Charity Wiffleball Tournament, called Wiffalo, is taking place on Sunday, Aug. 30, at Stiglmeir Park, 810 Losson Road in Cheektowaga. Wiffalo is held annually to raise money for Camp Good Days, a not-for-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for children and families who suffer from cancer or a life-threatening illness. Friends of Harmony to perform at park

The Friends of Harmony barbershop chorus and quartets will perform a free concert at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Island Park in Williamsville. The performance will feature music from the ’40s, ’50s and ’60s, and is part of the Village of Williamsville’s summer concert series. Attendees should bring lawn chairs. Cafe at the Curve offers activities, refreshments

Cafe at the Curve at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 8, and Sunday, Aug. 9, at 4007 Main St., Eggertsville. Sit outside, enjoy a cup of coffee or speak with a friend. On Saturday, there will be cold drinks, cinnamon buns, periodic food carts and smoothies. At 9 a.m., running, biking and walking groups will also be leaving from the Curve. On Sunday, Cruisin’ Crepes, a food truck specializing in crepes, smoothies and coffee, will be available.

Smallwood Garden Club sets next meeting

Smallwood Garden Club members will “stop and smell the roses” on Tuesday, Aug. 11. Mitzi Neiders, rosarian and Smallwood Garden Club member, will lead a tour of the Rose Gardens in Olmsted’s Delaware Park. After the tour, members will have the option of attending the Shakespeare in the Park performance of “Twelfth Night.” During the summer, members maintain the gardens at Glen Park and Cornerstone Manor, and provide exhibits at the Eggertsville-Snyder and Audubon libraries.

Free concert, pop music scheduled at park
