Anderson’s Frozen Custard to celebrate 100th birthday of company’s founder

Greta Anderson Greta Anderson In celebration of the 100th birthday of Greta Anderson, founder of Anderson’s Frozen Custard, the company is inviting customers to share in the festivities.

Greta Anderson founded the company with her husband, Carl, in 1946.

While the first location was opened in New York City, a second site was opened after the couple decided to move back to Western New York to be closer to their families.

The company is offering an opportunity for customers to provide a birthday greeting on cards that will be available at all Anderson’s locations. Patrons may also send birthday cards to: Anderson’s, 6075 Main St., Williamsville, NY 14221.

Customers also can participate in a contest to win a free handmade ice cream cake by uploading a video or comment regarding what they love about the company on its Facebook page.

One winner will be contacted each Friday through the end of the month.

Additionally, company representatives said patrons can visit any location through Wednesday, Feb. 28, to have their photograph captured with a life-sized image of Greta Anderson.

Customers can then upload the photos to the Anderson’s Facebook page and tag it #Gretas100.

Anyone who participates in the promotion will be eligible for a contest to win one-year’s supply of Anderson’s handmade ice cream.

Anderson’s has locations in the towns of Amherst, Cheektowaga, Lancaster, Tonawanda and Lockport, as well as the City of Buffalo.

The business also offers catering and provides delivery via the SkipTheDishes app available on Apple or Android devices.
